Dodge V-10 truck engine.... Good or bad in your opinion?

We are considering buying a Dodge 3500, V-10, extended cab 4x4, 192k miles, for $5k. I don't know much about the V10 motors & would like to hear if you have one or know someone who does, & what you think of them.

back when they first came out, trailer life magazine did a side by side comparison using 2 identical fifth wheel campers and a dodge with a V-10 and one with a diesel. by themselves if i remember correctly the V-10 got 15 and the diesel got 15...then
